I have to admit, the Knicks surprised me tonight.

I only caught the game from the 2nd quarter on, but from what I saw, I really liked what I saw. The Knicks worked their butts off tonight, everything was clicking for the team until their fourth quarter meltdown. Even Q had a nice game, going 6-13 from the field, and 2-5 from 3's. It's games like these that were were EXPECTING out of Q. I really hope his slump ends, I really like him and he plays great basketball, and this slump is really sad to watch.

What was with the three point shooting by both teams? All both teams wanted to do was hoist up three after three. Did you know the Warriors were at one point 2-14 from downtown?! Jeez! Al Harrington just showed me what I've known about him for a LONG time: he's a great offensive threat when he's hot, but you can't rely on him on the defensive end, or if he's in a slump. Tonight was a bad slump. He went 4-13, and 1-5 from 3's. You know, Al, after a while, why not just give up?

It was the Warriors constant misfiring from downtown that led to to Knicks staying in this game. Also, stellar play from Renaldo Balkman, Nate Robinson, and a quietly contributing David Lee helped keep the Knicks in the game. Balkman brought energy, Lee hustle and rebounds, and Nate gave us instant offense, even if he wasn't shooting well tonight. If it weren't for him we would've been stuck in one too many situations.

While we're at it, what was with that fourth quarter meltdown by the Knicks? Seriously, they couldn't even buy a shot. What made it worse was Jamal Crawford. He was hoisting up shots everywhere, and all I heard for the last few minutes of the game was "CLANK. CLANK. CLANK." Seriously Jamal, why must you always hoist up impossible to hit shots instead of driving to the basket late in games? Do you think because you hit one every few games, you can do it all the time magically? When you're 0-7 for three's that means you have to STOP THROWING THEM UP!

Stephen Jackson killed us. That man hit a bunch of hugh three's late in the game, effectively killing us for good. And kudos to Andreis Biedrins, with 26 (!) rebounds. He only averages nine and a half per game, which makes it even more surprising. Good for him.

When is Fred Jones going to be back? I already miss him. Mardy Collins is awful running the offense.

Eddy Curry was barely in the game, but he certainly made the most of it, with 17 points in 18 minutes. Randolph was quiet, and very dissappointing.

Overall, the game was exciting and very down to the wire, I just wish Crawford, Robinson and Randolph wouldn't have missed so many shots. We really should've won this game, the Warriors were playing awful. Oh well, there's other days. The Knicks face the Lakers on Tuesday, which will hopefully be good.

Knicks (113) - Jazz (109)

Phew, what a game.

The Knicks look to finally be back on track. Now on a two game winning streak, they pretty much ran all over the Jazz until the 4th quarter. The first half has to be one of the best first halves this squad has put up in a LONG time. Other than a quiet Jamal Crawford at first, the other Knicks seemed to contribute and put up big numbers. Marbury in particular had 15 points in the first half. Randolph got quiet after a 13 point first quarter, but would score big later on, with some great key defensive rebounds, offensive rebounds, and defense near the end.

Quentin Richardson seems to have FINALLY sort of found his shot: He went 3 for 7 and made VERY critical blocks and steals in the final few minutes of the 4th quarter.

Kudos to Eddy Curry, who had a horrible offensive game, but gave us a nice huge block (Which some may argue was a goaltend, which it sorta does look like... but I'd have to look at it a bit more closely...) down the stretch, which led to a quick 5-0 run with a minute and a half to go.

Over on Utah's side, Deron Williams once again showed me why he's the most underrated guard in the Western Conference. The kid has talent, 26 points and 8 assists, including some huge lay-ups late in the game. Mehmet Okur on the other hand, is ice cold once again. Is this guy going to heat up anytime soon? Looks like putting Paul Millsap in his place is only a formality at this point.

And who's decision was it to have AK-47 hoist up THREE three pointers, all being bricks?

Toss-up on tonight's best player, so I'm going to give Carlos Boozer the award on the Jazz, while Marbury and Randolph share the award for the Knicks. Boozer and Randolph both had double doubles, while Marbury hit many huge clutch shots. Kudos to Crawford for heating up in the second half, and hitting two huge free throws in the 4th quarter.

I'd love to say that there's nowhere to go but up, but please remember that Isiah Thomas is our head coach, James Dolan is our owner, and Isiah is sure to screw up sometime soon.
